The work The Sugar-Loaf Mountain, Monmouthshire by John White Abbott was sold in the Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt auction at Sothebys in London in July 2011. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,607.37), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by John White Abbott have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ugbrooke, Devon in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 38,400.00 (€ 55,564.16).

Die Arbeit The Sugar-Loaf Mountain, Monmouthshire von John White Abbott wurde im Juli 2011 in der Auktion Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.607,37) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John White Abbott auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ugbrooke, Devon im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.400,00 (€ 55.564,16).
