Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Aiguilles Du Dru, Near Chamonix by John White Abbott for GBP 563.00 (€ 668.97). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John White Abbott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ugbrooke, Devon in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 38,400.00 (€ 55,564.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Aiguilles Du Dru, Near Chamonix von John White Abbott für GBP 563,00 (€ 668,97) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John White Abbott erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ugbrooke, Devon im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.400,00 (€ 55.564,16).
