In July 2018 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work Amalfi, on the Gulf of Salerno, Italy by John 'Warwick' Smith. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,083.35), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by John 'Warwick' Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work St. Cosimato And Remains Of The Claudian Aqueduct: Situated On The River Anio, 10 Miles Above Tivoli, In The Apennines; And Port Of Terracina, And Ruins Of Anticul Anxur, Situated On The Confines Of The Roman Territories, Entering The Kingdom Of Napl in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 16,100.00 (€

Im Juli 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Amalfi, on the Gulf of Salerno, Italy von John 'Warwick' Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.083,35) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John 'Warwick' Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit St. Cosimato And Remains Of The Claudian Aqueduct: Situated On The River Anio, 10 Miles Above Tivoli, In The Apennines; And Port Of Terracina, And Ruins Of Anticul Anxur, Situated On The Confines Of The Roman Territories, Entering The Kingdom Of Napl im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.100,00 (€ 21.877,17).
