Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2003 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures, which included the work Lobster fishermen leaving harbour by Hamilton Macallum. The price achieved of GBP 5,875.00 (€ 8,510.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hamilton Macallum - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Walberswick Ferry (1875), which sold at auction in November 2003 for GBP 16,132.50 (€ 23,158.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lobster fishermen leaving harbour von Hamilton Macallum zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.875,00 (€ 8.510,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Hamilton Macallum mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Walberswick Ferry (1875) beobachtet, die im November 2003 für GBP 16.132,50 (€ 23.158,44) versteigert wurde.
