Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Hamilton Macallum could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime Art auction, the work Bringing in the catch changed hands for GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,757.46) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hamilton Macallum achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Walberswick Ferry (1875) in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 16,132.50 (€ 23,158.44).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hamilton Macallum konnte im Mai 2010 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Maritime Art wechselte die Arbeit Bringing in the catch für GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.757,46) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hamilton Macallum erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Walberswick Ferry (1875) im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.132,50 (€ 23.158,44).
