Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2003 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work The American Clipper Red Jacket in the Southern Ocean by John Stewart. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 900.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 998.75 (€ 1,391.51). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Stewart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Muhammad Ali, "Fist & Arm", Chicago in November 2017 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,121.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime durch, in der auch die Arbeit The American Clipper Red Jacket in the Southern Ocean von John Stewart zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 900,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 998,75 (€ 1.391,51) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Stewart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Muhammad Ali, "Fist & Arm", Chicago im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 24.121,91).
