Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work A clipper returning into coastal waters after a long journey at sea by John Stewart. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,661.58), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Stewart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Muhammad Ali, "Fist & Arm", Chicago in November 2017 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,121.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A clipper returning into coastal waters after a long journey at sea von John Stewart zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.402,50 (€ 1.661,58) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Stewart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Muhammad Ali, "Fist & Arm", Chicago im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 24.121,91).
