Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Steuart Curry could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Untitled (Touchdown Hero) changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,677.94) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Steuart Curry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Preliminary Study for a Mural: Oklahoma Land Rush in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 175,500.00 (€ 149,158.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Steuart Curry konnte im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Touchdown Hero) für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.677,94) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Steuart Curry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Preliminary Study for a Mural: Oklahoma Land Rush im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 175.500,00 (€ 149.158,59).
