In March 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Bill's Place by John Steuart Curry. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,140.78), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Steuart Curry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Preliminary Study for a Mural: Oklahoma Land Rush in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 175,500.00 (€ 149,158.59).

Im März 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bill's Place von John Steuart Curry zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 5.140,78) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Steuart Curry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Preliminary Study for a Mural: Oklahoma Land Rush im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 175.500,00 (€ 149.158,59).
