Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Fishermen on a river in a mountainous landscape by John Steeple for GBP 211.50 (€ 341.48). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 250.00 – 350.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Steeple - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The stepping stones (illustrated); and Driving the cattle home, which sold at auction in July 2004 for GBP 537.75 (€ 812.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2001 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Fishermen on a river in a mountainous landscape von John Steeple für GBP 211,50 (€ 341,48) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 250,00 – 350,00.
