Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book, which included the work Cows grazing in the water meadows by John Steeple. It changed hands for a price of GBP 454.10 (€ 642.68) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Other works by John Steeple have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2004 the work The stepping stones (illustrated); and Driving the cattle home was auctioned for GBP 537.75 (€ 812.66).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 454,10 (€ 642,68) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00.
