Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John 'Warwick' Smith could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints auction, the work A convent at Amalfi near Salerno, Italy changed hands for GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,905.65) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John 'Warwick' Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work St. Cosimato And Remains Of The Claudian Aqueduct: Situated On The River Anio, 10 Miles Above Tivoli, In The Apennines; And Port Of Terracina, And Ruins Of Anticul Anxur, Situated On The Confines Of The Roman Territories, Entering The Kingdom Of Napl in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 16,100.00 (€
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John 'Warwick' Smith konnte im Juli 2021 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints wechselte die Arbeit A convent at Amalfi near Salerno, Italy für GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.905,65) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John 'Warwick' Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit St. Cosimato And Remains Of The Claudian Aqueduct: Situated On The River Anio, 10 Miles Above Tivoli, In The Apennines; And Port Of Terracina, And Ruins Of Anticul Anxur, Situated On The Confines Of The Roman Territories, Entering The Kingdom Of Napl im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.100,00 (€ 21.877,17).
