Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August this year Christies in Sydney held the auction Tales of the City: New York Prints and Photographs of the Early 20th Century, which included the work The Picture Buyer by John Sloan. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,260.00 (€ 1,162.47). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Sloan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Corpus Christi Procession in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 607,500.00 (€ 574,305.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion Tales of the City: New York Prints and Photographs of the Early 20th Century durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Picture Buyer von John Sloan zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 1.260,00 (€ 1.162,47) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Sloan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Corpus Christi Procession im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 607.500,00 (€ 574.305,16).
