Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Christies in Sydney held the auction Tales of the City: New York Prints and Photographs of the Early 20th Century, which included the work Shine, Washington Square by John Sloan. The price achieved of USD 1,764.00 (€ 1,627.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Sloan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Corpus Christi Procession in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 607,500.00 (€ 574,305.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion Tales of the City: New York Prints and Photographs of the Early 20th Century durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shine, Washington Square von John Sloan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.764,00 (€ 1.627,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Sloan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Corpus Christi Procession im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 607.500,00 (€ 574.305,16).
