Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Day Out On The Seashore 30.1 X 36.5Cm (11 7/8 X 14 3/8In). Oval by John Simmons was auctioned at Bonhams in London in July 2021. The price achieved of GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,196.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Simmons achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Titania asleep: a scene from 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', Act II, Scene ii in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 65,765.38).
