Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings and British Paintings, which included the work A View Of Of The Grand Harbour At Valletta, Malta by Giovanni Jean Schranz. The price achieved of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,041.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Jean Schranz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hms Leander At Anchor In Dockyard Creek, Valetta Harbour, A Man-Of-War Being Fitted Out Beyond in December 2008 with an auction result of GBP 75,650.00 (€ 79,454.51).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.041,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden.
