Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Marine Sale, which included the work Hms Rodney In The Grand Harbour At Valetta by Giovanni Jean Schranz. The price achieved of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 32,821.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Jean Schranz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hms Leander At Anchor In Dockyard Creek, Valetta Harbour, A Man-Of-War Being Fitted Out Beyond, which sold at auction in December 2008 for GBP 75,650.00 (€ 79,454.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hms Rodney In The Grand Harbour At Valetta von Giovanni Jean Schranz zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 31.250,00 (€ 32.821,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Jean Schranz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hms Leander At Anchor In Dockyard Creek, Valetta Harbour, A Man-Of-War Being Fitted Out Beyond beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für GBP 75.650,00 (€ 79.454,51) versteigert wurde.
