Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Fine Hunting Morn by John Sanderson Wells was sold in the British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings auction at Sothebys in Olympia in July 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,208.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Sanderson Wells achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Church Parade, Hyde Park in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 41,210.20).
