Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Resignation by John Samuel Watkins was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in November 2003. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 1,527.50 (€ 921.47). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Samuel Watkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of the artist's wife in April 2003 with an auction result of AUD 29,375.00 (€ 14,979.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Resignation von John Samuel Watkins kam im November 2003 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 1.527,50 (€ 921,47) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Samuel Watkins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of the artist's wife im April 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 29.375,00 (€ 14.979,34).
