This work of art by John Samuel Watkins could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in August this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionThe Artist's Eye auction, the work Femme et Chat changed hands for AUD 2,214.00 (€ 1,321.17) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Samuel Watkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of the artist's wife in April 2003 with an auction result of AUD 29,375.00 (€ 14,979.34).
