Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2017 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work View of Vietri and Raito, Italy by John Robert Cozens. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 83,688.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Robert Cozens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Lake Of Albano And Castel Gandolfo in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 2,393,250.00 (€ 2,877,613.47).
