Auction result misses estimated price range
In January this year a collector was able to acquire the work Lake Nemi, looking towards Genzano by John Robert Cozens for USD 37,800.00 (€ 34,813.04). This price was achieved in the auction Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Robert Cozens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Lake Of Albano And Castel Gandolfo in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 2,393,250.00 (€ 2,877,613.47).
