Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Works on Paper, which included the work Rome From The Villa Madama by John Robert Cozens. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,948.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Robert Cozens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Lake Of Albano And Castel Gandolfo in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 2,393,250.00 (€ 2,877,613.47).
