In August 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Abstract with Figure by John Passmore. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 10,755.00 (€ 6,554.18), 34% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Passmore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Water'S Edge #2 in March 2006 with an auction result of AUD 203,150.00 (€ 119,908.54).

Im August 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Abstract with Figure von John Passmore zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 10.755,00 (€ 6.554,18) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Passmore erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Water'S Edge #2 im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 203.150,00 (€ 119.908,54).
