Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Darling Point, Sydney Harbour by John Passmore was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2008. The price achieved of AUD 10,800.00 (€ 5,569.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Passmore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Water'S Edge #2 in March 2006 with an auction result of AUD 203,150.00 (€ 119,908.54).

Die Arbeit Australian Darling Point, Sydney Harbour von John Passmore kam im November 2008 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 10.800,00 (€ 5.569,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Passmore erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Water'S Edge #2 im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 203.150,00 (€ 119.908,54).
