In the The House Sale auction, the work Orchid Album, Comprising Colored Figures And Descriptions Of New, Rare And Beautiful Orchidaceous Plants: Nine Plates sold for USD 4,541.00 (€ 3,646.80) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Nugent Fitch; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Orchid Album: Eight Plates sold at auction in February 2002 with the realized price of USD 5,640.00 (€ 6,514.21).
