A top price for John McNairn - as previously expected
In May 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Pictures, which included the work Borders Landscape by John McNairn. The price achieved of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,042.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Borders Landscape is the most expensive artwork by John McNairn that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Borders Landscape von John McNairn zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 6.042,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Borders Landscape das teuerste Kunstwerk von John McNairn, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
