Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art, which included the work Untitled, 1969 by John McLaughlin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 62,575.00 (€ 55,716.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John McLaughlin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work V-1957 in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 516,500.00 (€ 437,230.17).
