Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August this year Christies in Sydney held the auction Tales of the City: New York Prints and Photographs of the Early 20th Century, which included the work Brooklyn Bridge No. 6 (Swaying), from Six American Etchings (Series I) by John Marin. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,450.00 (€ 8,718.52), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Marin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lobster Boat, Cape Split, Maine in April this year with an auction result of USD 1,925,500.00 (€ 1,744,112.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion Tales of the City: New York Prints and Photographs of the Early 20th Century durch, in der auch die Arbeit Brooklyn Bridge No. 6 (Swaying), from Six American Etchings (Series I) von John Marin zur Versteigerung kam.
