It achieved a price of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,936.26), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 56%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Linnell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Return of Ulysses in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 171,650.00 (€ 250,603.59).

Die Arbeit A View Near Hampstead von John Linnell wurde im Februar 2019 in der Auktion The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.936,26) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 56%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Linnell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Return of Ulysses im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 171.650,00 (€ 250.603,59).
