Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Bonhams held the auction British and European Art, which included the work The Coming Storm by John Linnell. The price achieved of GBP 2,295.00 (€ 2,611.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Linnell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Return of Ulysses in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 171,650.00 (€ 250,603.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Coming Storm von John Linnell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.295,00 (€ 2.611,01) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Linnell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Return of Ulysses im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 171.650,00 (€ 250.603,59).
