Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sous les oliviers by John-Lewis Shonborn was sold in the Majorelle and his Contemporaries auction at Artcurial in Marrakech in December 2019. The price achieved of MAD 19,500.00 (€ 1,858.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as MAD 16,500.00 – 22,000.00. Admittedly, works by John-Lewis Shonborn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le Marchand D'Oranges in May 2014 with an auction result of EUR 13,650.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sous les oliviers von John-Lewis Shonborn wurde im Dezember 2019 in der Auktion Majorelle and his Contemporaries bei Artcurial in Marrakesch versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von MAD 19.500,00 (€ 1.858,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit MAD 16.500,00 – 22.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John-Lewis Shonborn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le Marchand D'Oranges im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 13.650,00.
