Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Chevaux by John-Lewis Shonborn was sold in the A Moroccan Winter auction at Artcurial in December this year. It achieved a price of MAD 18,368.00 (€ 1,680.38), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 22%. Admittedly, works by John-Lewis Shonborn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le Marchand D'Oranges in May 2014 with an auction result of EUR 13,650.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Chevaux von John-Lewis Shonborn wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion A Moroccan Winter bei Artcurial versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von MAD 18.368,00 (€ 1.680,38) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 22%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John-Lewis Shonborn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le Marchand D'Oranges im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 13.650,00.
