Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mt Hermansburg, Fink Gorge, NT by John Leo Borrack was auctioned at Christies in Sydney in August 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 470.00 (€ 277.65). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Leo Borrack achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work High Summer, Mernda in November 2004 with an auction result of AUD 5,019.00 (€ 2,923.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mt Hermansburg, Fink Gorge, NT von John Leo Borrack im August 2003 bei Christies in Sydney versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 470,00 (€ 277,65) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Leo Borrack erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit High Summer, Mernda im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 5.019,00 (€ 2.923,43).
