Admittedly, works by John Kelly have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Three Cows in a Pile, 2014 in August last year with an auction result of AUD 141,450.00 (€ 96,492.37).

Die Arbeit Australian The Cricket Match von John Kelly kam im August 2007 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von AUD 20.400,00 (€ 12.198,72) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 36%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Kelly auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Three Cows in a Pile, 2014 im August letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 141.450,00 (€ 96.492,37).
