Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Keane could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British Art including Works from the Collection of Bannon & Barnabas McHenry auction, the work Holding the Baby (New British Landscape No. 4) changed hands for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,312.86) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Keane have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Every Time We Say Goodbye in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,226.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Keane konnte im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art including Works from the Collection of Bannon & Barnabas McHenry wechselte die Arbeit Holding the Baby (New British Landscape No. 4) für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.312,86) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Keane auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Every Time We Say Goodbye im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.226,35).
