Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Magpye by John James Audubon. The price achieved of USD 81,900 (€ 67,164) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been given by the auction house as USD 70,000 - 100,000. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John James Audubon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work in June 2018 with an auction result of USD 9,650,000 (€ 8,264,109).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Magpye von John James Audubon zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 81.900 (€ 67.164) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 70.000 – 100.000 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John James Audubon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.650.000 (€ 8.264.109).
