Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2002 Christies in London held the auction Twentieth Century British Art, which included the work June Greenhouse by John Hitchens. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,240.81), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Hitchens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work From Deep Shadows, which sold at auction in March 2007 for GBP 5,760.00 (€ 8,478.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion Twentieth Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit June Greenhouse von John Hitchens zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.240,81) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John Hitchens mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit From Deep Shadows beobachtet, die im März 2007 für GBP 5.760,00 (€ 8.478,06) versteigert wurde.
