Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Forms of Shade by John Hitchens was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2000. It achieved a price of GBP 822.50 (€ 1,303.76), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Admittedly, works by John Hitchens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work From Deep Shadows in March 2007 with an auction result of GBP 5,760.00 (€ 8,478.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Forms of Shade von John Hitchens kam im Juni 2000 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 822,50 (€ 1.303,76) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 18%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Hitchens auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit From Deep Shadows im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.760,00 (€ 8.478,06).
