Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The British Herbal: Four Plates by John Hill was sold in the The House Sale auction at Christies in New York in June 2007. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,420.12). Admittedly, works by John Hill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Eden, or a compleat body of gardening, London, 1757, modern red morocco in May last year with an auction result of GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,411.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The British Herbal: Four Plates von John Hill wurde im Juni 2007 in der Auktion The House Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 1.920,00 (€ 1.420,12) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Hill auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Eden, or a compleat body of gardening, London, 1757, modern red morocco im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.300,00 (€ 7.411,35).
