Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Christening Pompey, Group portrait of four children with a puppy on the banks of a river by John Henry Dell was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,671.43). Other works by John Henry Dell have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2003 by the work Milking time at GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,060.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Christening Pompey, Group portrait of four children with a puppy on the banks of a river von John Henry Dell im Dezember 2006 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.671,43) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von John Henry Dell wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2003 die Arbeit Milking time mit GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.060,19).
