Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Christies in London held the auction First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Proof (Wall Rip, Verso) by John Henderson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,139.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Henderson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Type, which sold at auction in July 2019 for USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,723.27).
