In October 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work In The Big Foot Canyon; In Ambush: Pair Of Gouaches by John Hauser. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 9,056.33) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Hauser - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Near Laguna Pueblo, which sold at auction in May 2000 for USD 17,625.00 (€ 18,894.73).

Im Oktober 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit In The Big Foot Canyon; In Ambush: Pair Of Gouaches von John Hauser zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 9.056,33) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Hauser mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Near Laguna Pueblo beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für USD 17.625,00 (€ 18.894,73) versteigert wurde.
