Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Leopard by John Hassall was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2001. It achieved a price of GBP 411.25 (€ 671.93), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Hassall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Victory Parade, which sold at auction in September 2004 for GBP 1,673.00 (€ 2,437.35).

Die Arbeit Leopard von John Hassall kam im Dezember 2001 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 411,25 (€ 671,93) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 18%. Für andere Arbeiten von John Hassall mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Victory Parade beobachtet, die im September 2004 für GBP 1.673,00 (€ 2.437,35) versteigert wurde.
