Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL DRAWINGS AND WATERCOLOURS AND ILLUST, which included the work Jack Frost by John Hassall. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 305.50 (€ 499.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Hassall have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Victory Parade in September 2004 with an auction result of GBP 1,673.00 (€ 2,437.35).
