Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction British & Continental Pictures including Greek Art, which included the work Indian Girl On A Rock; Indian Hunter At Sunset by John Hassall. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,765.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by John Hassall have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2004 the work The Victory Parade was auctioned for GBP 1,673.00 (€ 2,437.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2007 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion British & Continental Pictures including Greek Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Indian Girl On A Rock; Indian Hunter At Sunset von John Hassall zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.765,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von John Hassall konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im September 2004 die Arbeit The Victory Parade für GBP 1.673,00 (€ 2.437,35) versteigert.
