In November 2006 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art, Wildlife and Dogs, which included the work Deer In A Clearing; Deer In A Woodland; A Bull Elk, Norway; And A Stag Crossing A River by John Guille Millais. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 420.00 (€ 623.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by John Guille Millais have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2017 the work Peregrine falcon and duck was auctioned for GBP 937.50 (€ 1,055.02).
