Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John George Brown achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in August 2020. In the American Art Online auction, the work Waiting for a Bite sold for USD 17,500.00 (€ 14,661.53) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John George Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Thrilling Moment in January this year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 754,282.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John George Brown erzielte im August 2020 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art Online wurde die Arbeit Waiting for a Bite für USD 17.500,00 (€ 14.661,53) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John George Brown erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Thrilling Moment im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 754.282,56).
