Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Two Musicians by John George Brown was sold in the American Art auction at Christies in New York in May 2021. The price achieved of USD 23,750.00 (€ 19,476.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John George Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Thrilling Moment in January this year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 754,282.56).

Die Arbeit The Two Musicians von John George Brown wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 19.476,79) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John George Brown erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Thrilling Moment im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 754.282,56).
