Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sunshine by John George Brown was sold in the 19th Century American Art auction at Christies in New York in January last year. The price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,020.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John George Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Thrilling Moment in January this year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 754,282.56).

Die Arbeit Sunshine von John George Brown wurde im Januar letzten Jahres in der Auktion 19th Century American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 39.020,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John George Brown erzielen.
